Posted in the topic Shedding & Tangles in Lace Frontal Wigs Human Hair – How to Avoid? in the forum Off-Topic Discussions
    April 8, 2026 10:52 PM PDT

Preserving the lifespan of human hair lace frontal wigs depends on proper moisture care and careful handling, which helps minimize shedding and keeps tangling and matting under control. Because the hair is hand-tied into a fragile lace base, excessive tension is the primary cause of shedding. To minimize breakage and thinning, carefully detangle with a wide-tooth comb or a wig-specific brush, start from the ends and slowly working your way up toward the roots. Never brush the hair while it is soaking wet, as the water weight can stretch the knots and cause them to slip or snap.

To combat tangles, moisture is your best defence. When wearing a human hair frontal wig, as there are no natural oils from your scalp to help condition the hair, this can make the hair of your wig dry out, become brittle and tangle easily around the nape area from the friction of your shirt, jacket, and so forth. To keep the hair smooth and manageable, it is highly encouraged to deep condition the hair with a sulfate-free conditioner once per week, then apply a silicones-based (lightweight) serum (for slip to help keep away tangles) to the hair after conditioning it.

Additionally, securing your hair into two loose braids and covering your head with either a silk or satin bonnet/cap every night before sleeping will help reduce the overnight friction from your wig that causes the dreaded “birds-nest” or frizzy/unkempt look to your hair. As a result, your wig will continue to look smooth, full, and free of shedding for months.

Posted in the topic Tips for Installing Raw Hair Bundles Like a Pro in the forum Off-Topic Discussions
    April 1, 2026 11:43 PM PDT

Before you begin to put in your raw hair bundles, it is very important to prepare the hair before you start. Raw hair is not chemically processed and therefore behaves just like your real hair, so in order for the raw hair extensions to blend well with your own hair, you need to get into the mindset of doing some groundwork before installation. Always co-wash the bundles off before putting them in so that you can see the true texture and condition of each bundle and remove any particles from it. When it comes to the actual sewing, the "fold-over" method is your best friend. Cutting the tracks leads to unnecessary shedding, and since Raw Hair Bundles are a premium investment, you want to preserve every inch of that density.

Carefully watch the tension put on the hair; if you pull them too tightly, it will affect the longevity of your hair style and cause them to lose their shape. Once you install the hair, care for it as if it were your own hair, using as little heat as possible and only high-quality serums with it. If you treat your bundles as if they were your own hair (example: gently detangle and wrap them in silk at night), the install will look professional, and the style will last for many months without any issues. If you treat these bundles like your own hair—gentle detangling and nightly silk wraps—the install won't just look professional; it will stay flawless for months.

Posted in the topic How to Install Hair Bundles with Closure at Home in the forum Off-Topic Discussions
    March 30, 2026 1:09 AM PDT

Be honest with yourself—Just because it may have cost you a small fortune to spend time in a salon and be serviced doesn't mean that you can't have the same type of service on your hair right in your own home. With a bit of practice, you too can create and apply your own Hair Bundles with Closure in front of the bathroom mirror and look like a stylist when done. Don't get upset if it doesn't turn out perfectly the first time; you just need to develop a system so that you are confident when doing it again.

    The secret to having an exceptionally well-done install is based on having a good foundation, or something to build on. If you can flatten your natural hair as much as possible by either providing very tight cornrows or a sleek low-looking ponytail, that will help. Then, put on a wig cap that is nude in color and fits your head like a glove;

A tip that works for me is drawing a light line with a white pencil where I want my part to go, so I will not have to try to figure it out once I start installing my Hair Bundle with Closure. Once your wig cap is in place, spray it with Got2B Glued spray (try to keep the glue away from the skin) and dry it with the hand-held hair dryer until dry, firm, and shiny. Once the wig cap is positioned and dried, cut the hair to the appropriate lengths from ear-to-ear and install on your wig cap.

Posted in the topic Is it possible to wear front lace wigs daily without ruining your edges? in the forum Off-Topic Discussions
    March 24, 2026 11:37 PM PDT

Using front lace wigs daily while preserving your hairline can be done if you have a good plan of attack. "Towel drying" your edges or "hiding" edges underneath the wig are the real issues with bad edge care. Your wig does not damage your edges; it is the improper application of heavy glue to your edges and not having a barrier to protect your edges. If you suspect that wig or headband use is damaging your edges or pulling on your hair, use a wig grip band or silk-lined wig cap as a protective barrier from friction or too much pulling on your delicate hair follicles. Both items create a barrier between your scalp and your wig while allowing you to wear front lace wigs in a secure manner without using chemically based products.

If you want to wear a glued-down front lace wig, then the key is to remove the wig correctly by using an appropriate adhesive solvent rather than pulling the lace directly off your scalp. You should also give your scalp one "breathing" day per week, which is very important for the health of your hair follicles. With this method, alternately wearing your wig with and without glue will give you the ability to wear your front lace wigs for the style you want without sacrificing the health of your natural edges. You can also maintain the moisture of your hairline using lightweight oils will also keep your hairline strong and healthy.

Posted in the topic How to Customize Your Full Lace Frontal at Home in the forum Off-Topic Discussions
    March 23, 2026 12:34 AM PDT

Customizing your Full Lace Frontal at home is a simple way to get a natural, salon‑like look without professional help. Start by preparing your mannequin or mannequin head and securing your Full Lace Frontal in place so the lace faces forward and the knots are easy to see.

Next, gently trim the extra lace around the hairline using sharp, small scissors. Hold the lace taut and cut in tiny, straight lines to avoid jagged edges. Focus on the forehead, temples, and nape, following your natural hairline shape for a seamless blend. After trimming, you can tint the lace with a matching concealer or lace‑dye stick so it disappears against your skin tone.

If you want a more natural scalp effect, pluck a few baby hairs along the front edge to mimic a baby‑hair fringe. Be careful not to over‑pluck, as this can create thin spots. Once you’re happy with the lace and hairline, style your frontal in your preferred part—side, middle, or deep side—to frame your face.

By customizing your Full Lace Frontal at home, you create a personalized fit that looks undetectable while keeping the wig lightweight and comfortable for daily wear.
