Do not use any shrines yet. Leave them untouched.
Kill all other enemies on the map. Subo helps you track them down.
That's it. The dungeon boss stays alive. The shrines stay untouched. Everything else dies.
π The Corrupted Roots Loop – Spawning Your First Boss
Now the fun begins.
Use a corrupted root and see what spawns.
Head Rotten boss? Great (roughly 25% chance).
Weak zombies or an elite zombie? Kill them and move on.
There's a 1-minute cooldown on corrupted roots after use.
π To bypass it: teleport back to town, then immediately return to the dungeon. Cooldown reset.
Repeat until you successfully spawn a Head Rotten boss.
You may need multiple corrupted roots. This is why you started with 20–30.
β‘ The Shrine Manipulation – Turning Shrines into Boss Factories
You've spawned a Head Rotten boss. Now don't kill it yet.
Step 1 – Clear the Trash
Kill every other enemy that spawned with the boss, but leave the boss alive.
Step 2 – Reset the Monster Pool
Teleport back to town, then teleport back into the dungeon. This resets what will spawn from shrines.
Step 3 – Kill the Boss
Now kill the boss. Loot whatever drops.
Thanks to Dread Revival, the boss has a chance to respawn after death.
Step 4 – Click the Shrine
Move toward a shrine and click it.
The Nemesis node will spawn 1 to 7 copies of the boss.
Each copy drops loot, including a guaranteed Whispering Cache.
π Each Whispering Cache contains:
Experience orbs (from Wisdom of Whisperers)
Corrupted roots (making the farm self-sustaining)
Step 5 – Chain Shrines Immediately
After clearing the first shrine, move to the second shrine.
Click it immediately – there's no benefit to waiting for the first shrine's effect to end.
Bosses only spawn when you activate a shrine, not after the effect expires.
Repeat for the third shrine. Each shrine can spawn up to 7 bosses, each dropping a cache.
π Completing the Loop – Reset and Repeat
After using all shrines in the dungeon, you'll have a massive pile of Whispering Caches.
What to do:
Go back to town.
Reset the Nightmare Dungeon.
Start the entire process over again.
You will leave with as many corrupted roots as you entered with (if not more). The farm is completely self-sustaining.
π‘ Additional Notes & Pro Tips
β¨ Resplendent Sparks
If you take the final War Plan node in the Nightmare Dungeon section, Whispering Caches have a chance to drop Resplendent Sparks.
Relevance in the current season is uncertain, but this could become very valuable in Season 14.
β±οΈ No Waiting Required
You do not need to wait for shrine effects to expire between clicks.
Bosses only spawn when you activate a shrine. Click all shrines in sequence immediately.

Start with 20–30 corrupted roots. Don't skimp on this – you need buffer for bad RNG.
Never kill the dungeon boss during prep. Leave it alive for the shrine phase.
Teleport to reset cooldowns – waiting 1 minute per root will kill your efficiency.
Use Subo. Enemy radar is a game-changer for clearing the dungeon completely.
Chain shrines back to back. No waiting. Click, kill, move, click.

For XP farmers: This is the fastest path to level 300. Period. Each shrine = up to 7 bosses = up to 7 Whispering Caches = massive XP orbs.
For loot seekers: Whispering Caches drop corrupted roots, gear, and potentially Resplendent Sparks (especially if Season 14 makes them valuable).
