Youve all seen the viral videos featuring Christmas lights timed to music for a ridiculous display of light and sound. Theyre amazing, but youve probably seen enough to feel like maybe its getting repetitive. Well, youre not going to believe this one.A fan in suburban Elburn, Ill., has taken the Christmas lights show to an entirely new level with a Blackhawks Denard Robinson Jersey -themed display that puts so many others to shame.Watch the incredible five-minute video to see the lengths this display goes to, to honor the holidays and the defending Stanley Cup champions.According to Larsen Lights, who was responsible for this incredible display, the light show started running on Thanksgiving and runs every night from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. during the week. Then it goes from 5 to midnight during the weekend. It will be up through New Years Day. The accompanying audio includes the Blackhawks goal horn, of course, followed by Stranglehold by Ted Nugent the teams entrance song for home games. Then theres some Fallout Boy, followed by a heavy metal song written about the Blackhawks, and finally the teams catchy goal song, Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis. This thing is an a sault on the senses, but in the best po sible way for Blackhawks fans. And the worst po sible way for everyone else, perhaps. No matter your rooting interests, this is incredibly cool.I sure hope these folks have understanding neighbors. H/T D.J. Wonnum Jersey
The have traded star winger and defenseman Ty Smith to the Carolina Hurricanes in a ma sive blockbuster deal. In the trade, the Penguins acquired forwards Michael Bunting, Ville Koivunen, Vasily Ponomarev, Cruz Lucius, a conditional 2024 first-round pick and a conditional 2024 fifth-round pick. The Hurricanes will send a 2024 first-round pick to the Penguins if Carolina makes it to the Stanley Cup Final. It will become a 2024 second-round pick if the Hurricanes don't reach the Stanley Cup Final. The Penguins will receive an additional 2024 fifth-round pick if Carolina wins the Stanley Cup. The Penguins will retain 25% of Guentzel's salary. Guentzel had spent his entire eight-year career with the Penguins after the franchise selected him with a third-round pick in the 2013 Draft. He Andre Tippett Jersey is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Penguins forward has registered 52 points (22 goals, 30 a sists) in 50 games this season. Guentzel has been out of the lineup since Feb. 14 with an upper-body injury but recently begun practicing with Pittsburgh prior to the trade. Guentzel has tallied 219 goals and 247 a sists during his profe sional career thus far. His best season came in 2021-22, when he registered 84 points (40 goals, 44 a sists). Guentzel has scored at least 20 goals in all but one season in his career. The Penguins were aiming to make a Stanley Cup run this season. After all, the team traded for reigning Norris Trophy winner last August to help bolster their blue line, but have struggled at times this season. Pittsburgh currently sits eight points outside of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, so the Penguins decided to begin building toward their future by shipping Guentzel out of town. The hits just keep coming for the Blue Jackets. Already down Boone Jenner (hand), Nathan Horton (back) and Ryan Murray (knee) Columbus is now also without center Brandon Dubinsky after he underwent abdominal surgery on Wednesday. MORE: | | Dubinsky sustained the injury in practice Monday and was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. After surgery, Dubinsky will mi s around six weeks reports Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch. Brandon Dubinsky had abdominal surgery this a.m. in Philadelphia. Expected to mi s 6 weeks, Richards said. Shawn Mitchell (@smitchcd) While Dubinsky has never been a big goal scorer hes managed 20 goals in his career just once he has been an excellent all-around contributor, and has been a positive driver of po se sion throughout his career. That leaves the Jackets thin at the center position, with Ryan Johansens status for the opener in question after he mi sed all of training camp without a contract. Uruguay Jersey but, not surprisingly, hes not in game shape. Richards said Johansen not guaranteed to play Thursday vs . Fitne s, form very much a concern. Shawn Mitchell (@smitchcd) That could mean Artem Anisimov, who looked to be headed to third line soon with Johansen under contract, is ticketed for a top-six forward role for a bit longer. That in itself isnt terrible Anisimov has generally been a decent player for most of his career in New York and Columbus. The problem is all of these lo ses add up. Dubinsky, Jenner, Murray and Horton were positive po se sion players last season. Even if their replacements, like Anisimov, step up, there's no guarantee the guys who now have to fill the replacements' vacated roles will do as well. The hope is for a speedy return for these players, but for a team that figures to be grinding it out for a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, losing points in October before these players return could doom their season by the time April rolls around. The Blue Jackets open their season Thursday night in Buffalo. Oceania Jersey
The may want to look to the past as their phone rings with calls to trade up for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. Specifically, to 2013, when the Josh Okogie Jersey tried to trade with the for the right to take Nathan MacKinnon. The Flames held three first-round picks that year: Nos. 6, 22 and 28. , the Flames offered all three to Colorado for the top pick. The Avalanche said no and drafted MacKinnon, who was expected to be good and has turned out to be one of the best players on the planet. The Maple Leafs this year lucked into the top pick with just the fifth-best lottery odds. They have the chance to take the Canadian phenom, Gavin McKenna. Others will surely try to trade up into that spot to get McKenna for themselves. But it'd have to take a heck of a lot for the Leafs to move down. "(Colorado) felt those 3 (Flames) picks together were not even worth No. 1," Friedman said on his 32 Thoughts podcast. "So I'm sure Toronto will entertain all options here, but in the NHL, history shows that if you have these picks, it is extremely rare that you move far away from them." This also provided an interesting retrospective on Flames and Avalanche history. How different would things be if that deal had gone down? It's safe to say quite different. That's the battle Toronto will fight now. Some offers might seem very good on paper. But do any of them equal McKenna (or the other potential top pick, Ivar Sternberg)? The reality is that the Leafs will probably stay put, but it'll be fascinating to see what rumors might roll in as the draft approaches. More NHL news: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Jersey
Carey Price will want that one back. The Montreal Canadiens goaltender arguably one of the best netminders of his generation committed ablunder in Tuesday's game against the Columbus Blue Rui Hachimura Jersey Jackets that led directly to a goal against. With the game tied 2-2 in the third period, Columbus'Emil Bemstrom found himself 1-on-1 against Price after a turnover at the Montreal blue line. Bemstrom tried to get off a quick backhand shot, but the puck went well wide and banked off the boards behind Price's net. This is where it gets weird. NHL 2019-20: 10 things we've learned so far this season The puck caromed high into the air as Price turned around, causing the Canadiens goalie to lose sight of it. Price seemed to frantically search as the puck descended back toward the ice before it banked off his blocker and into the Montreal net. A pair of Canadiens players flanked Price as the horn sounded, with the bemused netminder helple s to do anything but look up at the big screen at Nationwide Arena to see the replay. Bemstrom was credited with the go-ahead marker because there are technically no own goals in hockey, but it was definitely an own goal. To make matters worse, the goal turned the tidein Columbus' favor after back-and-forth scoring throughout the first two periods, with the Blue Jackets nettingtwice more to secure a 5-2 victory.
