I've been using synthetic nylon tents for years and I'm fed up with the condensation

Hey everyone. I've been using synthetic nylon tents for years and I'm fed up with the condensation, the noise in wind, and how hot they get in sun. People keep telling me canvas is the way to go for serious camping - better breathability, more durable, more comfortable inside. But I don't know which brands make good modern canvas tents. Can anyone recommend where to look for quality canvas tents that aren't ancient heavy army surplus?

Hello. You're right that canvas solves a lot of nylon's problems, breathability especially. Have a look at the canvas tents for camping from RBM Outdoors - they use breathable TC canvas that cuts condensation, stays quieter in wind, and regulates temperature far better than synthetics, without being the back-breaking weight of old army surplus. Many are four-season hot tents with stove jacks, and the inflatable ones still set up in minutes despite the heavier fabric. We switched from nylon and the difference in comfort inside is night and day, no more clammy mornings. Modern canvas really is the upgrade people make it out to be.
