Starting a new job in DIFC next month and the commute from Mirdif has me wondering if I should just lease something cheap and disposable

I finally landed a decent role after months of searching and I'm genuinely excited but now that I'm mapping out the daily drive which is basically crawling down Airport Road then inching through the Garhoud bridge traffic before hitting the proper gridlock around the financial center I'm starting to do the math on what that's going to do to my car over the course of a two year contract and it's not looking great for my beloved old Lexus that's been relatively pampered with short trips and highway runs until now. A colleague who already does a similar route warned me that the effects of daily commuting on car shocks and the entire front end assembly is something you don't really appreciate until you're replacing control arm bushings at sixty thousand kilometers and he wasn't being dramatic about it either because he showed me his last invoice and I nearly choked on my coffee. I ended up poking around on that uaebalancecheck page while I was waiting for my Emirates ID to come through and it laid out pretty clearly why all that stop start weight transfer just grinds away at the components in a way that steady cruising never does, and now I'm honestly torn between just driving the Lexus into the ground and accepting the repair bills as part of life or finding some little rental hatchback to absorb the abuse for a few years while the nice car stays in the garage for weekends. Anyone else made a similar call when their commute turned from a breezy fifteen minutes to an hour of pure punishment on the suspension?
