It’s perfect for backups, archiving, or hosting bulk data without breaking the bank. Sure, it’s not as fast as SSD, but if you prioritize space and affordability, it’s a smart option.
I recently started moving my personal archive (think 4TB+ of old photos, documents, and ISO backups) to a VPS with spinning drives instead of SSD. Why? Because I don't need instant access—I just want safe storage without paying a premium. The price per terabyte is way lower, and while latency is higher, that doesn't really matter for me.
