Why does my paint booth act like it has personal beef with my paint job?

Any paint booth calls for a constant airflow to siphon off overspray and pollutants in the atmosphere. If the airflow becomes too weak, the paint particles will linger and collapse back onto the surface. If too strong or uneven, it will influence the atomization and drying of the coating.Another major contribution—filters.

Dirty or clogged filters can cause air to be restricted and contaminants to be recirculated. If it seems as if your filters are evidence gathered from every paint project since 2019 they might need a change. Other things that are important are the temperature and humidity. Each type of paint has an ideal working temperature but if it is too cold or too hot then you can run into problems like it drying too slow, poor adhesion or orange peel.

Another thing is checking the booths too for dust accumulation. The walls floors lights, ducts etc can contain oversprayed product and trash.

Lastly, ensure that your spray equipment is thorough clean and well used.Running wrong pressure / nozzle adjustments / paint viscosity can produce defects that are not booth related. Before pointing fingers at the paint booth, check airflow filters cleanliness temp humidity and spray set up.

It's almost always one of those sneaky culprits hiding out in plain sight.
