As I am in the midst of a portfolio perusal due to a refresh of our marketing agency website, it has become abundantly clear to me that all agency sites look virtually identical these days. Not only do they all have the aforementioned features of dark backgrounds and floating glassmorphism elements, but they also share the exact same language such as “We create Digital Transformations.” It’s visually striking the first three times, but after a while, it all just blurs together into this corporate soup.
I'm trying to figure out how to break the mold without alienating corporate clients who expect a certain level of professionalism. Should we lean heavily into a raw, brutalist text-only layout, or maybe go full retro? I want my agency’s website to have its own personality and not simply show that we can follow design trends. If you have done a redesign recently, what did you do differently to distinguish yourself from everyone else? Have you seen any difference in your lead generation after abandoning the usual agency look? Would you be interested in swapping some links to inspire each other and help me get out of my creative slump?
