Adding a side door to a container – what worked for you?

    Hey everyone,

I’ve been researching different ways to add a side entry door to a shipping container. Planning to use it as a mix of storage and workspace, so I’ll be going in and out pretty often.

The main thing I’m trying to avoid is overcomplicating the build. I’ve seen some DIY setups where people adapt regular doors, but it seems like a lot of extra work with framing, sealing, and making everything line up properly with the container walls.

Recently found a Metal Door for Shipping Container that looks like it’s already designed for this kind of use. Pre-framed, weather sealed, and seems like it would save a lot of time compared to building everything from scratch.

    My questions:

    • Is it worth going with a ready-made option like this?
    • How well do these hold up in terms of weatherproofing?
    • Any issues with installation or long-term durability?

Trying to keep things simple but still do it properly the first time.

Any advice or experience would be appreciated

It turns a small but important decision into a fun and meaningful process that adds excitement to the entire league experience.
