Custom Mobile Application Development Need Insights & Experiences

    Hey everyone,

I’m exploring custom mobile application development and wanted to get some insights from people who’ve been through the process either as developers or as businesses building their own apps.

A lot of companies today prefer custom-built apps instead of ready-made solutions, mainly because they want more control, better performance, and flexibility. For example, XAutonomous has been doing some impressive work in this space by creating tailored iOS and Android apps with scalable architecture, modern UI/UX, and enterprise-level security features.

What I’m trying to understand is:

    1. How beneficial is custom development compared to off-the-shelf apps?

Is the extra cost worth it in the long run?

    2. What features should a business always include in a custom mobile app?

Things like push notifications, analytics, user authentication, etc.

    3. For developers—what’s your go-to tech stack for building cross-platform apps?

    Flutter? React Native? Native Swift/Kotlin?

    4. What challenges did you face during development?

Budget, communication with clients, scaling, maintenance—anything.

    5. Any companies you’d recommend for businesses looking to outsource development?

I’ve personally seen good results from XAutonomous, especially for custom features and long-term scalability, but I’m open to more suggestions.

Would love to hear your experiences, recommendations, and lessons learned. This will help a lot of people who are deciding whether to invest in custom mobile apps or stick with generic solutions.

    Thanks in advance!
