A bead mill is a modern, state-of-the-art grinding apparatus. It achieves particle size reduction down to the sub-micron size and enables a homogeneous mixture of materials. A bead mill operates by introducing small grinding media or 'beads' into a rotating chamber. The beads produce both shear and impact forces to efficiently reduce the particle size of the material being ground, while also dispersing the particles throughout the slurry. There are many industries that utilize bead mills, including: coatings, ink, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical manufacturing. Due to the need for consistency in the wet grinding process, bead mills provide consistent quality to manufacturers. In addition to providing quality products, bead mills are much more efficient than previous types of grinding and allow for a greater throughput than traditional methods.
