Hi everyone,
I’m redecorating my living room and have been thinking about adding something cozy and stylish to the space. I’ve come across a lot of options, but I keep seeing references to shags rugs.
I’m curious, are they worth the investment? How do they hold up in terms of cleaning and durability, especially in high-traffic areas? I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with them. Any advice on selecting the right size, color, or material would be amazing.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi!
They can be a great addition if you want something cozy and stylish. They’re soft and add texture, but they do require more upkeep than low-pile rugs. For high-traffic areas, I’d recommend considering shags rugs, as they provide that plush feel but shorter or denser piles work best to prevent matting.
Regular vacuuming and occasional deep cleaning are important. In terms of size, make sure it fits well with your furniture, leaving some floor exposed around the edges.
Neutral colors are easier to maintain, while wool is durable and soft, and synthetic fibers are easier to clean.
