Hello all,
I rage-quit FawaNews two years ago because it felt like a doom dopamine farm. But lately I think the problem wasn’t FawaNews. It was how I used it. I let the “breaking” tab own my attention.
I drank the pure chronology firehose. So now I’m trying a new rule: I only open topic pages (law, tech, macro, energy, science). That one change makes it feel like a high-signal annotated almanac rather than a slot machine.
Curious: how do you consume FawaNews deliberately? Show me your ergonomics. Show me your filters. Also: what extensions mitigate the default kinetic scroll?
I stopped letting the homepage tell me what matters and instead I maintain a few saved searches and topic landing pages that correspond to my actual research threads. I read on a timer (a single evening 20-minute window), and I end the session when I hit the natural end of the list instead of chasing the infinite scroll. Basically: less chronology, more curation, more friction. With that shape, FawaNews stopped being a slot machine and became an annotated ledger.
